Our Mission

The mission of Military Monday Promotions is to rally small businesses and charities across the United States to create fundraisers that support the military and veterans and their families.

Vision

We envision thousands of charity events happening on Mondays across the United States, offering discounts and incentives to military personnel, veterans, and their families, and a mashup of calendars and maps that help people to find events/offers in their area and to easily invite their friends to join in.

Strategy

Military Monday Biz will provide a central web-based calendar and directory of promotions happening around the country, allowing military personnel and vets (and the media) to easily find promotions in their area, subscribe to RSS feeds, and install buttons, banners, and widgets that promote their preferred events on their websites, Facebook page, etc.

For merchants, we will seek to provide graphics, PDFs of flyers and postcards, print ad templates of various sizes.  As we are able, we will offer window stickers, bumper stickers, T-shirts, caps, posters, and other premiums to help with local promotions.  We will seek co-sponsors for these items to subsidize the costs to allow us to give them away for free or sell them for the cost of shipping.

Wherever possible, we will use existing services rather than duplicate.  For example, we will use Craig's List and Twitter for publicity, Meetup.com to organize local groups, and RSS feeds offering valuable local content to the media.

Our intention is to have an all-volunteer staff and very low expenses so that the service remains 100% free.  As the scope increases and requires more effort, we will offer selected fee-based services (or a few sponsorship slots) to cover our administrative expenses and plan for future growth.  Like Craig's List, we will remain committed to offering free services that generate their own publicity and complement similar businesses.
